I noticed a few leaves had "bugs" but didn't recognize them as aphids. I began wiping the leaves with a watery mix of white vinegar and dish soap, cut off the worst leaves into a sandwich zip bag. Took the bagged leaves to COUNTY VECTOR CONTROL and they referred me to COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS, AGRICULTURAL DEPT. Picked up the original bag from Vector and with "fresh cut" dying stem & leaves drove to AG. HEMISPHERICAL SCALE -- I didn't know what that meant or what to do -- especially since I found more on afew leaves and recognized that the larger bumps on the stems were older sites.
